  3.                          A Freeware Address Book

  5. Simple Addresses is a simple FileMaker Pro database that will work with
  6. either the Macintosh or the Windows edition of Claris' FileMaker Pro.
  7.  
  8. Here's what we'd like you to do; If you actually use this database we'd
  9. like you to send us a copy of it after you've added your own
  10. personalized functions to it so that we can learn from your examples as
  11. we hope you may have learned from ours.
  12.  
  13. If you would like to make copies of this for your friends and
  14. associates, please include all the files in this archive. It is brought
  15. to you as a Freeware gift from the GreenBird Group, publishers of

  28. Instructions;

  30. Simple Addresses is really just what it says; a simple address book in 
  31. which you can simply and quickly search through lists of your 
  32. addresses and phone numbers. Something we have done that other address 
  33. book have not done is to leave a field available for net mail
  34. addresses, and a check box that among the standard listings of Friend,
  35. Associates, Business, etc., has a selection for BBS Associates. Not a
  36. major advance to shake the world, but a nice touch we thought.

  38.                           Quick View Screen
  39.  
  40. When you first open Simple Addresses you are presented with the Quick
  41. View listing. At the very top of this page are underlined subject
  42. titles. Each of these can be clicked on and the list below will be
  43. sorted based on the criteria selected.

  45. Once your view has been sorted ad you have found the address you are
  46. looking for, select the entry by clicking on it and you will be
  47. presented with the main Data Entry screen. The Data Entry screen is
  48. where you would add information about the person, business or
  49. whathaveyou you had just selected.

  51.                                 Button Bar

  53. FIND
  54.  
  55. The FIND button does just that. It gives you a place where you can
  56. enter a set of information, or just a few letters of a name, or a phone
  57. number. Pressing the ENTER key will cause the database to search for
  58. criteria that matches your search.

  60. SELECT
  61.  
  62. Selects the data record that is currently marked by a small black
  63. cursor in the extreme right-hand of the window.

  65. PREVIOUS
  66.  
  67. Goes to the previous record.
  68.  
  69. DATA ENTRY

  71. Brings you to the main Data Entry screen where all information for a
  72. particular entry is made.

  76. Goes to the next record.

  80. When you press on the NEW button in the lower right hand corner of the
  81. Quick View screen, you will be brought to the Data Entry screen and
  82. given a fresh, blank card in which to create a new entry for your
  83. Simple Addresses database.

  85. Data Entry Screen
  86.  
  87. The Data Entry Screen is the place where you do all your data entry,
  88. and thus its name. The function buttons on the bottom of the screen
  89. serve similar functions to the same buttons on the Quick View screen
  90. with two exceptions; a DELETE button, and a LETTER button. Play with
  91. them to see what they do.

  93. EXTRA BUTTONS

  95. We left you extra buttons so that you can create your own functions
  96. within Simple Addresses. We were going to create this Wham Bam!
  97. database for you but couldn't figure out what it was you would have
  98. wanted, so we've left the rest up to you.
